Where Should We Go in Jamaica?

I posted before about where we were staying in Jamaica, but that is changing. For unforeseen reasons, we are going to stay somewhere else. But I’m surfing the “information superhighway,” and finding no information. It’s more like a dirt road sometimes than a highway. Maybe because I work with websites to become better, and more usable, I get more frustrated. But maybe not. I’m sure I’m not alone in my frustration when it comes to finding a villa or hotel in a certain area. When a hotel doesn’t have a website; has one that can’t be found; or has one that has no information, how do they expect us to decide to stay there?

This is why so many people go through travel agents. But then the travel agents get a cut of your price, which means you could go for cheaper without them.

So what do you do? I guess we just have to be patient and dig through the crappy sites to find the nice place to stay. Which brings me to the point of this post, where can we stay? If you’ve been to Jamaica, where would you recommend we stay? I’ve had some recommendations already for Treasure Beach, Jamaica. I just want some more for more places like Runaway Bay, Discovery Bay, Long Bay Beach and anywhere that is away from the resorts.

I don’t want an all-inclusive resort. I don’t want parties that will make me forget everything about Jamaica. My wife and I, and our friends want a nice quiet romantic getaway for a reasonable price. Do you know anywhere like that? If so, please, let us know.
