The National Anthem of Jamaica

Here’s something a little different. I thought that since I talk about Jamaica so much, I’d put up the lyrics and music to their national anthem.

Eternal Father, Bless our Land,
Guide us with thy mighty hand,
Keep us free from evil powers,
Be our light through countless hours,
To our leaders, great defender,
Grant true wisdom from above,
Justice, truth be ours forever,
Jamaica, land we love,
Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica, land we love

Teach us true respect for all,
Stir response to duty’s call,
Strengthen us the weak to cherish,
Give us vision lest we perish,
Knowledge send us Heavenly Father,
Grant true wisdom from above,
Justice, truth be ours forever,
Jamaica, land we love,
Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica, land we love

This is the only version I could find that had the singing included.

    Idren B,

How can I get the code to add this to my page? Did you have to pay for it?

Of all the places I have linked and heard our National Anthem on the internet, this was the version that had the clearest enunciation.

Thank you for the love and respect you have for our home, Jamaica.

    Bless Up,
    Lady Roots

I’m glad you liked it. I was actually a little worried. I think it sounds kind of cheesy, but it’s the only version I found with words.

It doesn’t compare to hearing Jamaican school children singing it live, but it’s something.
