Our Weekend at Sojourner’s Lodge in Amish Country, Ohio
This past weekend, my wife and I went away to Amish Country. For those of you who don’t know, Holmes County Ohio has the largest Amish community in the world. So you can imagine what driving on the roads is like. It’s not bad during the day, but at night all the buggies and people walking on the road with no lights is very nerve racking. I always feel like I’m invading their territory with my loud annoying car.
One thing to remember when going to Amish country is to go during the week. We usually do, but this time went on a weekend and at every place we went, there were about three busloads of people waking around.
We stayed at Sojourner’s Lodge in the heart of Amish Country in Dundee, Ohio. It was a beautiful place. Back in the woods, on a country road, with a nice lake in front. It looked almost brand new, or at least newly remodeled. Log ceilings and trim. It was really nice, and inexpensive too.
Outside.            The fireplace.
I apologize for the poor quality, of course we forgot our camera, so these are from my phone.
