No Cells Phones, PDA’s or Laptops on the Beach
That’s right. Elite Island Resorts has banned cell phones, PDA’s and laptops from being used within a half a mile of the beach. Sound bad? I don’t think so. I love it. Think of laying there on the warm sand, the sun beating down, the waves crashing. Maybe a few seabirds crying far overhead. So relaxing. Peaceful.
RINGGGGG, RINGGGGG!!!! (or some other increasingly annoying ring tone) “Hello? HELLO? WHAT? YEAH. I’m on vacation. I’M ON VACATION! AT THE BEACH!”
Is that what you want to hear? Not me. I’m all for banning electronics on the beach. Well, maybe not banning, but please people, have some respect for those who are trying to get away from the world for a while.

Right on Bro! I agree 100%, no cell phone at the beach for me! BTW…Thanks for joining us for supper, too bad it rained so hard.
Thanks for having us over. What I want to know is, why would anyone want to be bothered while they’re at the beach anyway?
The same could be said for cell phones at a restaurant. I do not answer the phone ANYWHERE while I am eating. If I am having supper at work and somebody calls me, I return their call after I finish eating. If I get a call while eating supper at home, I return the call after eating. My phone is for MY convenience, nobody else’s. I sat by a man at IHOP 3 weeks ago that was never off of his phone for more than 2 minutes. He never once engaged in any conversation with his Wife or 3 children. What a waste. DITCH THE PHONES PEOPLE!!!!!!!
Obviously I hit a nerve with you. I’ll make sure not to carry around my cell. (Like I really want to be bothered at any time of the day.)
