My Trips to Jamaica. Blue Mountains, Montego Bay, Jamaica.

I love Jamaica. Having been there twice (and planning my third trip), I have been to most of the country. I actually stayed in the Blue Mountains the first time I went. I can’t remember where, it was sort of a dormitory type place. It was about a two hour drive to get anywhere. Nice to get away, a bit cooler in the mountains, but way, way to far from the beach. This last tie I stayed in Montego Bay. Nice place. A little to touristy, but that’s what you get in most places. We stayed at a the Chatham Cottages, which was a great place. It’s not a resort, not many amenities, but it’s the kind of place I like. Here are some pictures;

Some of the cottages are nicer than others, but for the price, you can’t beat that. In fact, I thought that the price was extremely low. You can get housekeeping and cooking services, and very extremely reasonable prices. There is also a kitchen for your own use. The rates on the website aren’t up right now, but I think they were around 20 – 30 dollars (US) a day. That’s almost unbelievable. I would definitely recommend Chatham Cottages to anyone looking to get away from the tourist feel. Although it’s located right at the edge of the “Hip Strip,” You would never know it. It’s secluded enough that you feel like you’re almost in the jungle, yet it’s less than a minute walk to the beach.
